Hello!
My name is Anna Casupang and I am the Social Media Editor for Sacred Hearts Academy's online publication Ka Leo.
I am currently a senior and have been in Journalism for three years. As the Social Media Editor for the past two years, I create and organize posts for our publication's Instagram and work alongside other editors to assist staff reporters through the entirety of the writing process. As a student journalist, I am grateful to have the opportunity to be the voice of others, sharing their stories and helping them to be heard.
Outside of the newsroom, I am involved in student government, campus ministry, and performing arts. I also work as an independent contractor with Mo'olelo Studios, which is a theater performing arts program in Honolulu. My involvement with these activities has influenced my reporting by providing me with story ideas that I am passionate about.
I have committed to the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa and will be attending the Shidler College of Business through their Direct Admit Program. I was admitted as an exploratory business student but intend to major in marketing. Along with a major in marketing, I want to minor in communications and graphic design. My experience in journalism has prepared me for my intended major and minors by teaching me basic media skills, as well as creativity and practical thinking.
